May is Guillain-Barré Syndrome Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about this rare autoimmune disorder.

Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is a neurological condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nervous system, which includes nerves outside the brain and spinal cord.

The severity of GBS can vary significantly, from mild weakness to severe paralysis that can impair independent breathing. On May 29, 2013, our firm’s President, Ricardo “Rick” Salazar, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. This rare condition led to 98% of his body becoming paralyzed, requiring machines and assistance for essential functions such as breathing and eating. Against all odds, Mr. Ricardo Salazar has achieved a 90% recovery and continues to strive every day to overcome the challenges of GBS. The Trimad team extends our deepest gratitude for the leadership you have shown us over the years. You have become an integral part of our lives and careers, and we hope your story inspires others as much as it inspires us.
